Charlie - New Orleans

Shells a la Santiago. Protector of pilgrims. Built into the church in St Martinsville, Bayou Tesh. Bricks locally produced a very long time ago. Don't actually know the tile artist but it smells a lot like Henry Mercer. Doesn't it?

Shrimp from Shrimp Outlet. Nearish Padre Island, right off the boat. Still had their accents.

Semi authentic bar and restaurant. Some pretty obvious old establishment here . But then they went and painted a  40's "Coke" ad on the side and sanded int back to make it look old. The food pretty much lost it's flavor from that point on.

FQRV. French Quarter RV Park. Our gateway into Sodom and Gomorra. Safe enough i guess. People say there's a lot of murder there but we didn't kill nobody. 

Well ok, i've had red beans and rice before. But not really. The delicate balance of the sausage  and crispy rice texture and probably some bacon cream butter.

Crescent Park. Really nicely reclaimed piece of urban detritus Old docks become new park complete with gardens and a cantilevered observation deck. Oh yeah, it's actually interestingly designed like the NYC Hi Line park. Urban yet friendly natured lot were the natives. Across the street from Bywater the new upcoming creative hood. Adjacent to Compton.

Ok so Halloween was only a month ago...

Hans't changed in a long time. Neither has the food. "You want that fried?"

It looked like a fun ride, at least the way i described it would be. One part of the Pontchartraine  dike looks pretty much like the other. I still have that mud on my bike somewhere. The trail at one point crosses over into Bayou Savage nature preserve at one point. You can tell when this happens because the mosquitos band together into a great big cartoon drill. *Citation needed
